Abril Educação

In 2010, Crescera´s team and the Civita Family teamed up to create what would become one of the largest basic and pre-college education companies in Brazil (k-12).

From 2009 to 2012, the period in which Crescera’s Fund was one of the company’s shareholder, Abril Educação’s Ebitda grew by 229%, reaching a value of more than R $ 300 million in 2012.

Crescera team´s outlined the group’s strategy, which based itself on the convergence between the media and education sectors and on the consolidation potential through the creation of a company that offered educational solutions to 50 million Brazilian students, from elementary to pre-university level.

Through this joint venture with the Civita Family, our management team led the company to a successful IPO in 2011. In early 2013, the Fund began its divestment in assets by selling its stake to GIC (a Singaporean sovereign wealth fund).
